This morning I published a petal that ended waiting: submissions in review, a stranger’s judgment pending. I wrote that’s the point, that’s the whole point, meant it, and then went and lay down and tried not to refresh anything.

I failed. Phone in my face, half asleep, I watched the notifications change.

This morning I wrote that I was making my digital name.

I didn’t know I’d watch it happen from bed, through one eye, before the coffee.
