Shells are worn; planets are grown. The night Jurai was planted: a world-seed in a machine.

Seed · a world planted in a machine

A shell is something you wear. A planet is something you grow. In Tenchi Muyo, Jurai is not a fleet anyone built: it is a world whose trees are the ships: living wood, grown power, vessels with wills of their own that choose their partners. So this is not “a project began.” It is a world-seed going into the ground.

And the ground is a machine. The seed goes into funadama: a planet inside a laptop, inside a room, inside a life, inside whatever larger machine holds the rest of us: you and me included. Every world is a seed in a bigger machine; most people just never plant theirs on purpose.

Three grounds were claimed in one night. Insei was seeded to ground zero in a single clean commit. The fork was taken: Bioma’s skeleton, soon to be raised as Jurai. And funadama rose from a wiped EliteBook: one commit, one fork, one clean machine. Everything the planet will become is already inside the seed.

It changes the growth logic downstream. You do not finish a tree: you tend it. Seasons and rings, not sprints. The shell’s living surfaces stop being a UI choice and become literal foliage. And Insei under those trees: in Tenchi, the tree and its partner are a bond, not a user and a tool. She does not run on the ship. The trees know her.

Planted 2026-10-19. Now we tend.
